ThoroughbredAuctions.com announces the online catalog for the New Mexico Breeders Sale and Open Mixed Internet Auction is now available for viewing. The catalog is one of the largest ever online horse auctions in North America, with 98 entries.
"We were contacted by members of the New Mexico Breeders Association when the decision was made to move the live auction from Ruidoso, NM to Guthrie, OK," said Tim Jennings of ThoroughbredAuctions.com. "We indicated to them we would need a minimum number of entries in order to proceed, and the response was overwhelming."
Featured in the auction are 41 Accredited New Mexico Bred Yearlings both Thoroughbred and Quarter Horse by such sires as Right Rigger, City at Midnight, Marking, Abstraction, Comfort One Handsom Man, Jesse James Jr, and Jumping Chic among others. Included in the group are full and half siblings to stakes winners Rig time, Dust Alert, Tipsy Tea, and Tea Time. Also in the sale are three weanlings eligible for New Mexico-Bred status.
Stakes winners in the auction include Sky Defence, $307,873, Winsham Lad H., and Let Her Dance, $96,428, Goldfinch S., 2nd El Paso Times H.
The Open session of the auction features a young, proven daughter of Mineshaft, pregnant to multiple G1 Winner Yoshida, and an Accredited Oklahoma Bred son of Euroears, who's a half sibling to 4 winners, from a prominent, black type family and a filly by leading freshman sire Speightster out of a daughter of Ghostzapper.
Bidding opens at 2 p.m. EDT on Aug. 20 and begins closing at 2 p.m. EDT on Wednesday, Aug. 26. Bid closings are staggered, 3 minutes apart, and the sale features a "soft close" with extended bidding when someone places a bid in the last three minutes before closing.
