Third-crop sire War Command, a group 1-winning son of War Front , has been sold by Coolmore Stud to Charley Lauffer's Earl Le Ticol near Durfort in South France. The deal was brokered by Jim Perry Bloodstock.

Bred in Kentucky by Joseph Allen, who bred and campaigned War Front, War Command was later raced by Allen along with longtime Coolmore partners Susan Magnier, Derrick Smith, and Michael Tabor. At 2, War Command won four of five starts, which included three wins in group stakes: the Dubai Dewhurst Stakes (G1) at Newmarket, the Coventry Stakes (G2) at Ascot during the Royal Ascot meet, and the Galileo E.B.F. Futurity Stakes (G2) at the Curragh. In his only other start, he was third in the Keeneland Phoenix Stakes (G1).

The colt was unable to maintain his form at 3, retiring after eight starts with earnings of $625,067.

War Command retired to stud in Ireland at Coolmore at a first-year fee of €15,000 in 2015. The stallion also was shuttled to Chile. From his first Northern and Southern Hemisphere crops, he sired three black-type winners, including two group stakes winners. War Command's top performers as a freshman sire included group 2 winner Me Olvide and listed winner War Breeze in Chile and Irish-bred listed winner Victory Command, who won or placed seven times out of nine starts at 2.

War Command has sired four black-type winners and four black-placed winners, which include three who placed in group stakes. His son War Breeze won the El Derby (G1) and placed in the El Ensayo Mega (G1) as a 3-year-old. The sire's 187 starters to date include 87 winners who have collectively earned $2,354,442 in purses.

War Command is out of grade 2 winner Wandering Star (by Red Ransom), who also produced group 3 winner Naval Officer (Tale of the Cat) and winner Wonder Woman (Storm Cat), who as a mare has produced group-placed stakes winner War Officer (Grand Slam), French stakes winner Doo Lang (Pulpit), group-placed winner Danceland (Tapit ), and stakes-placed winner Verdura (Smart Strike). The family also has produced successful sire Silver Hawk (Roberto), who sired 8% black-type winners from named foals. Silver Hawk's 35 grade/group stakes winners include 14 grade/group 1 winners.

A 2021 stud fee for War Command has not been set yet.
