Kentucky-based trainer Eric Reed secured the 1,000th victory of his career Sunday, Oct. 27 when Itsyesornoihavtogo scored an upset victory in the first race at Hawthorne Race Course.
Kay Reed's Itsyesornoihavtogo, a 3-year-old More Than Ready filly, rallied from tenth place in the maiden-claiming race to win the one-mile turf test at odds of 46-1.
Reed, 49, has 1,000 winners from 6,602 starters through Oct. 27. A Lexington native and son of trainer Herbert Reed, Eric Reed began training horses right out of high school.
Among the 25 stakes wins for Reed are the 2009 Lexus Raven Run Stakes (gr. II) at Keeneland with Satans Quick Chick and the 2007 John Battaglia Memorial Stakes at Turfway Park with Catman Running.
