Fasig-Tipton will hold its California Fall Yearlings Sale Oct. 19 at Los Alamitos Race Course instead of its traditional venue at Fairplex in Pomona due to COVID-19 restrictions, the sale company announced Sept. 25.

"This is an important sale for the California marketplace, and we are very appreciative of Dr. (Ed) Allred and Los Alamitos for accommodating us when it became clear we could not hold the sale in Pomona," Fasig-Tipton president Boyd Browning Jr. said.

The sale was initially to be conducted at Fairplex on the same date but had to be relocated to Los Alamitos in neighboring Orange County due to COVID-19 restrictions on large gatherings at Los Angeles County facilities.

Fasig-Tipton has cataloged 298 entries for the fall yearling sale that will begin at noon Pacific time.

"We have a quality catalog with 298 entries, which is up slightly over our inaugural yearling sale in California last year," Browning said. "There is a good mix of both regional and national sire power, and graduates of last year's sale are off to a flying start."

This year's catalog cover features Positivity, who sold for $20,000 at this sale in 2019 and won this year's Graduation Stakes at Del Mar. Exchange Vows, who was third in the Sorrento Stakes (G2), is also a graduate of last year's sale.

The catalog may now be viewed online and will also be available via the Equineline sales catalog app. Print catalogs will be available by Oct. 1.
