Description:

Shared Belief, the impressive winner of the Feb. 7 San Antonio Invitational Stakes (gr. II), worked five furlongs in a bullet 1:00 2/5 Feb. 24 on the synthetic track at Golden Gate Fields.

The move was the fastest of the day among 13 horses working the distance and was three-fifths of a second quicker than the second-fastest five furlong work of 1:01 flat by Belspree and  Zeewat, a 5-year-old multiple stakes winner who, like Shared Belief, is trained by Jerry Hollendorfer.

A 4-year-old son of Candy Ride  , Shared Belief has won nine of 10 career starts and earned $2,332,200 for his ownership group that includes Jim Rome's Jungle Racing, Jason Litt, Alex Solis II, George Todaro, Kevin Kim Nish's KMN Racing, and Hollendorfer.

Shared Belief, the champion 2-year-old male of 2013, defeated Horse of the Year and dual classic winner California Chrome in the San Antonio. That rival is now being pointed toward the $10 million Dubai World Cup (UAE-I) March 28, while Shared Belief is likely headed to the $1 million Santa Anita Handicap (gr. I) March 7.
