Palace , the only multiple grade 1-winning sire by the late prominent sire City Zip, has been sold to Saudi Arabian interests, according to bloodstock agent Chad Schumer, who brokered the deal.

The 11-year-old stallion entered stud at Spendthrift Farm near Lexington in 2016 and has sired two crops of racing age that include 36 winners. His top performers to date are Iowa Cradle Stakes winner Chacha Real Smooth, grade 2-placed winner Auberge, and stakes-placed winner Tensas Weezy.

Bred in New York by the Peter J. Callahan Revocable Trust, Palace sold for $160,000 at the Ocala Breeders' Sales March 2-Year-Olds in Training Sale to agent Doug Cauthen out of the Crupi's New Castle Farm consignment. The colt began racing for WinStar Farm and got claimed by New York trainer Linda Rice in his fourth career start. Rice eventually sold the colt to Antonino Miuccio and continued to train him. At 4, Palace won two stakes for state-breds before winning the Fall Highweight Handicap (G3). At 5, he upped his game with wins in the Alfred G. Vanderbilt Handicap (G1), Forego Stakes (G1), and True North Stakes (G2). He compiled a 12-7-5 career record from 30 starts and earned $1,586,550.

Palace is out of End Sweep winner Receivership, who is a half sister to grade 2 winner and graded producer French Park (Ecton Park). Receivership is also the dam of stakes-placed winner Retriever (Golden Missile).
