Status Not Reinstated for 2015 Joe Hernandez

After reviewing the off-the-turf renewal of this year's Joe Hernandez Stakes conducted Feb. 22 at Santa Anita Park, the American Graded Stakes Committee has decided not to reinstate the listed status of the race.
As is policy with off-the-turf races, the Joe Hernandez was immediately downgraded, in this case from a listed stakes to a non-listed black-type stakes. The race will be recorded as a non-listed black-type stakes.
Edward Brown Jr., Alan Klein, and Phillip Lebherz's Distinctiv Passion won the race that was conducted at 6 1/2 furlongs on the dirt, instead of the downhill turf course.
