After breaking through for his first stakes victory in the Polynesian Stakes last out, Eastern Bay will try to add more black type to his résumé in the $200,000 Frank J. De Francis Memorial Dash Stakes (G3) going six furlongs Oct. 3 at Pimlico Race Course.

A $35,000 claim in February, Robert Bone's Eastern Bay rallied from fourth in the Sept. 5 Polynesian at Laurel Park to run down frontrunner and five-time stakes winner Laki. One start earlier Aug. 20, Hillside Equestrian Meadows' Laki and Eastern Bay finished second and third, respectively, in an allowance event at Laurel. Both are Maryland-breds.

Long Lake Stable's Stan the Man will invade with two strong performances from New York. The Broken Vow gelding came running from fifth to win the restricted Tale of the Cat Stakes Aug. 20 at Saratoga Race Course. That victory followed a runner-up performance to Firenze Fire in the True North Stakes (G2) June 27 at Belmont Park. 

Uptowncharlybrown Stud and Godric's Midtowncharlybrown finished third to Laki in his first start of the year in the July 3 Oceanport Centennial Stakes at Monmouth Park. He returned to win the Sept. 7 Banjo Picker Stakes against fellow Pennsylvania-breds at Parx Racing. 

Last out allowance winner and grade 3-placed Admiral Lynch, Smile Sprint (G3) runner-up Krsto Skye, Gallant Bob (G2) second and last out allowance winner Landeskog, and grade 1-placed Nitrous complete the field.
