Sackatoga Stable's New York-bred hero Tiz the Law breezed a bullet five furlongs in :57.87 Oct. 2 at Belmont Park.
Piloted by exercise rider Heather Smullen on the fast main track, the four-time grade 1-winning son of Constitution worked under overcast skies and light rain in preparation for his next engagement, the $6 million Longines Breeders' Cup Classic (G1) Nov. 7 at Keeneland.
Dave Grening of Daily Racing Form reported on Twitter that Tiz the Law "was supposed to work in company, but mate broke nearly 1/16th of a mile in front."
"I didn't want to see him go that fast, but he came out of the work well," trainer Barclay Tagg said. "He scoped well, and everything is going good with him."
Tiz the Law has put together a notable sophomore campaign that includes victories in the Curlin Florida Derby (G1) at Gulfstream Park, the Belmont Stakes Presented by NYRA Bets (G1), and the Runhappy Travers Stakes (G1) at Saratoga Race Course.
Tiz the Law was a last-out second in the Sept. 5 Kentucky Derby Presented by Woodford Reserve (G1) at Churchill Downs.
Tagg said Tiz the Law would likely work back next week, either Friday or Saturday.
A $110,000 purchase at the Fasig-Tipton New York Bred Yearlings Sale, Tiz the Law has amassed $2,615,300 in earnings. He was bred by Twin Creeks Farm out of the late Tiznow mare Tizfiz.
