The remarkable Princess Zoe, who started the season rated 64, sealed a top-level victory at the first attempt Oct. 3 in a stamina-sapping Qatar Prix du Cadran (G1) at ParisLongchamp.

Racing over 2 1/2 miles on heavy ground, the nine-runner field were spread out down the straight at Longchamp but Princess Zoe, trained by Tony Mullins, gallantly found for pressure to lead close home.

40-1 shot Alkuin shot clear in the straight but apprentice Joey Sheridan persisted on the gutsy Princess Zoe, a daughter of Jukebox Jury who completed a fairytale success.

Princess Zoe finished second at Navan on her first start of the year and stable debut and has since won five races in a row, including two victories at the Galway festival.

Mullins said: "She just keeps improving and I believe there's more to come.

"She's so easy to train and I wouldn't have any worries about going back to a mile and a half. She's versatile but just doesn't want good to firm ground. If she tells us she's able, we'll return for the Prix Royal Oak (G1)."

Menuisier Celebrates Second Group 1

Trainer David Menuisier celebrated a second top-level success when Wonderful Tonight stayed on resolutely to land the Qatar Prix de Royallieu (G1).

The Christopher Wright-owned Le Havre filly cruised into the lead in the straight under Tony Piccone and relished the testing conditions to deny the Joseph O'Brien-trained Pista.

Menuisier, who considered supplementing Wonderful Tonight for the Arc after the heavy rain this week, celebrated a first group 1 victory last year when Danceteria landed the Bayerisches Zuchtrennen (G1).

Wonderful Tonight was halved in price to 8-1 with Betfair Sportsbook for the Oct. 17 British Champions Fillies and Mares Stakes (G1) at Ascot.

Menuisier, watching from home, said: "I'm thrilled. She's tough as nails—she never gives up and always tries her hardest.

"We won our first group 1 in Germany last year and it was fantastic, but winning a group 1 at Longchamp on Arc weekend is just exceptional. I'm over the moon."

Also on the Saturday card, Skalleti impressed in the Qatar Prix Dollar (G2). The Kendargent gelding, who defeated Arc hope Sottsass on his previous start, was shortened to 14-1 (from 33) by Paddy Power for the Qipco Champion Stakes (G1) after his ready success.

Another winner who could be in action on Champions Day is The Revenant after the Francis-Henri Graffard-trained 5-year-old scored on his return in the Qatar Prix Daniel Wildstein (G2).

Jockey Pierre-Charles Boudot said: "He was very impressive and the QEII Stakes will be his next target in two weeks. He will improve on today."
