Horologist wins the Beldame Stakes at Belmont Park

Beldame Stakes (G2) winner Horologist will be supplemented to the Nov. 7 Longines Breeders' Cup Distaff (G1) at Keeneland, part owner Cameron Beatty announced via Twitter Oct. 7.

Beatty, who races under the banner of There's A Chance Stable, said the ownership group will pay a supplemental nomination fee so that the New Jersey-bred daughter of Gemologist  trained by Bill Mott will be eligible to run in the 1 1/8-mile stakes. Aside from a $100,000 nomination fee, there will also be pre-entry and entry fees totaling $60,000.

Owned by There's A Chance Stable, Parkland Thoroughbreds, Medallion Racing, and Abbondanza Racing, Horologist scored a three-length victory in the Oct. 4 Beldame at Belmont Park.

She has won seven of 19 starts, including the Molly Pitcher Stakes (G3) in July when Beatty was barred from Monmouth Park for the remainder of its meet for violating COVID-19 protocols and appearing in the winner's circle. She has earned $695,439.

Out of the Stephen Got Even mare Cinderella Time, Horologist was bred by Holly Crest Farm.

She was originally trained by John Mazza, who passed away in May at the age of 82. Mazza trained Horologist through a third-place finish in the 2019 Cotillion Stakes (G1). She then raced for Richard Baltas until she won the Molly Pitcher for Mott.

Horologist was also third for Mott behind winner Monomoy Girl in the La Troienne Stakes Presented by Oak Grove Racing and Gaming (G1).

Horologist raced exclusively for There's A Chance Stable until after the Cotillion, when Beatty added his current array of partners.
