The Ohio Thoroughbred Breeders and Owners Association will hold its annual mixed Thoroughbred sale Oct. 15 at the Delaware County Fairgrounds, which is about 30 miles north of Columbus.
The grounds will be open for buyers to inspect sales prospects at 9 a.m., and the sale is scheduled to start at 2:30 p.m. Every yearling and horse of racing age has had a scope performed and those results are available. A licensed veterinarian is also available on site.
Eighty-seven horses are cataloged and represent a wide variety of prospects in all age categories. The offerings include 14 weanlings, 34 yearlings, three 2-year olds, two 3-year-olds, and 19 broodmares. The balance of the catalog is older horses, including 11 horses of racing age from the dispersal of Gerald Silver's estate. Multiple stakes winner Mobil Solution, a 5-year-old old gelded son of Mobil out of the Seeking the Gold mare Perfect Solution, is being offered in the dispersal. He has won or placed 24 times out of 30 starts and banked $523,070 to date. Mobil Solution most recently won the non-black-type Catlaunch Stakes Sept. 24 at JACK Thistledown Racino.
The catalog can be found on the OTBO website. Phone bids are accepted with instructions available in the catalog. Any questions should be directed to Daryl Duncan at (740) 502-4549.
