The long-delayed hearing on the status of Linda Rice's training license has been scheduled to begin Nov. 3 at 10 a.m.

The New York State Gaming Commission hearing involves allegations that during 2011-15 Rice violated rules by paying New York Racing Association officials to obtain the names and past performances of horses who were likely to run against her starters.

Rice is facing the possible revoking or suspension of her license as well as fines based on the regulators' final ruling.

The hearing will be conducted over the course of at least four days via Webex, according to Gaming Commission spokesperson Brad Maione. Rice and her attorney will present their case Nov. 3 and 4, with the Gaming Commission offering its evidence Nov. 17-18 and possibly Nov. 19.

Originally scheduled for December, the hearing was postponed on several occasions.

The 56-year-old Rice has been training since 1987 and has 2,058 wins from 11,104 starters with earnings of $83.3 million. In 2009, she was the leading trainer at Saratoga Race Course, becoming the first woman to win a training title in New York. More recently, she was the leading trainer at the 2019-20 Aqueduct Racetrack meet with 40 wins.
