Elite globetrotter Magic Wand is to be covered in Australia by Justify  as she joins the Coolmore broodmare band.

The logical decision has been made as the 5-year-old has been in the country recuperating from a foot abscess which signaled the end of a distinguished racing career.

A four-time winner of £3,705,970 (US$4,702,433) in prize-money, Magic Wand's biggest victory to date had been in last year's Seppelt MacKinnon Stakes (G1) at Flemington and she had returned to Australia to resume her international travels in the Ladbrokes Cox Plate (G1).

A daughter of Galileo and three-parts sister to Darley Irish Oaks (G1) winner Chicquita, Magic Wand would have been given an upmarket cover by her owners in any event but as it happens, the U.S. Triple Crown winner Justify has shuttled to Coolmore Australia's premises in the Hunter Valley.

Bred by a partnership between Ecurie Des Monceaux and Skymarc Farm, Magic Wand was bought by a Coolmore partnership for €1.4 million ($1,562,820) as a yearling at Arqana.

Her dam Prudenzia's progeny have naturally been in great demand and M.V. Magnier snapped up the most recent to come to market, a full-brother, for €2 million ($2,360,793), only a few weeks ago.

Godolphin bought Magic Wand's Dubawi half sister for €1,625,000 ($1,802,288) last year with Philomene recently making a winning debut for André Fabre at ParisLongchamp.
