Editorial breaks his maiden in 2017 at Gulfstream Park
Editorial , a half brother to current top-three stallion Uncle Mo , will stand the 2021 season at Freedom Hills Farm near Taneytown, Md., Climax Stallions announced Nov. 15. His fee will be $2,500 live foal, stands and nurses.
The 6-year-old son of War Front will complete shuttle duties in Peru before heading back to the United States. He entered stud in 2018 at Roland Farm in Warwick, Md., where he stood his first two seasons. Editorial missed the 2020 Northern Hemisphere breeding season due to quarantine and shipping issues associated with the global COVID-19 pandemic and was unable to return from Haras San Pablo early this year.
Editorial stood his first two seasons at Roland Farm for $3,500 and would have stood 2020 for $2,500. He was bred in Kentucky by the Playa Maya Syndicate out of the Arch mare Playa Maya and campaigned by Susan Magnier, Michael Tabor, and Derrick Smith. In two starts for trainer Todd Pletcher, Editorial won a 7 1/2-furlong maiden special weight at Gulfstream Park after finishing second in his debut.
In addition to Editorial, Climax Stallions syndicates St Patrick's Day , a full brother to American Pharoah , and Curlin to Mischief . St Patrick's Day will stand 2021 at Journeyman Stallions near Ocala, Fla., for $5,000 LFSN, and Curlin to Mischief will be advertised at $3,500 LFSN at Rancho San Miguel near San Miguel, Calif.
