Grade 2-placed winner River Dancer, a 9-year-old son of Pioneerof the Nile, has been relocated to Byerpatch Farm near Lebanon, Ohio, and brings with him an opportunity for breeders to earn a lifetime breeding right.
"We are very happy to stand this high-class son of a proven sire of sires at Byerpatch Farm," said Byerpatch owner Burke Byer. "My father bred many good racehorses at this farm, and we expect River Dancer to carry on this tradition for us. We set a very reasonable stud fee for him and are offering breeders another great incentive by awarding a free lifetime breeding to River Dancer after four seasons are purchased. I believe River Dancer will become a leading Ohio stallion."
River Dancer is standing for an introductory stud fee of $1,500 live foal with additional mares to be covered for only $1,000 each. A 10% booking fee applies to each mare.
Bred in Kentucky by Catherine Parke and Susan Knoll, River Dancer is out of multiple stakes-producing Theatrical daughter Clever Actress. The mare has produced stakes winners Big Apple Daddy (by Precise End), who nearly equaled a track record at Philadelphia Park (now Parx Racing), and Golden Actor (Curlin ).
River Dancer won his first start by a length at Belmont Park and followed with a second in the With Anticipation Stakes (G2T) at Saratoga Race Course. His racing career was compromised by a suspensory ligament injury.
The stallion's first foals will be 2-year-olds next year.
