Bob and Jackie, a multiple stakes-winning son of Twirling Candy , was purchased by Price/Recio Bloodstock, agents for Calvin Nguyen, for $190,000 to top the Nov. 16 session of the Keeneland November Breeding Stock Sale that started the three-day Book 5.
Consigned by St George Sales, agent, as a racing or stallion prospect, Bob and Jackie (Hip 3017F) is a Zayat Stables homebred that was a late addition to the Keeneland catalog. Out of the Eskendereya mare Fateer, the 4-year-old won three turf stakes in Southern California for trainer Richard Baltas and was third in the Oct. 3 City of Hope Mile (G2T) in his most recent start. He is a winner of four of eight starts and has earned $209,551.
Grey Price said the buyers had been in contact with Baltas prior to the sale and he asked them to try to acquire the horse.
"This is a nice horse and he has a big future ahead of him," said Mike Recio.
Price said they thought the colt would likely sell in the $200,000-$225,000 range so "this turned out pretty good for us."
Recio said that after a 72-hour van ride from California to Kentucky, the colt arrived in time to be shown Monday and will be flown back to Southern California on Tuesday.
"He's a globe-trotter," Recio said.

He was produced from the unraced Include mare Sun Salutation, a full sister to multiple graded stakes winner and grade 1-placed Redeemed.
Bred in Virginia by Morgan's Ford Farm, the colt was purchased by Zayat Stables for $250,000 at the 2018 Keeneland September Yearling Sale. He has one win and a second in four starts and has earned $49,154.
