Tight Ten wins his debut by 4 1/4 lengths in 2018 at Churchill Downs

Tight Ten , a 4-year-old grade 2-placed son of Tapit , has been retired and will enter stud next year at the new 200-acre Mountain Springs Farm near Palmyra, Pa.

A homebred for Winchell Thoroughbreds, Tight Ten broke his maiden in his debut at Churchill Downs, where he won gate-to-wire by 4 1/4 lengths. Trainer Steve Asmussen stepped him up to graded competition in his next two outings, and he ran second in the Saratoga Special Stakes Presented by Miller Lite (G2) and Iroquois Stakes (G3).

Tight Ten contested the Sentient Jet Breeders' Cup Juvenile (G1) but was compromised when he hit the rail in the first turn. He missed most of his sophomore year due to an injury and returned to winning form at 4. The colt was retired with a 2-3-1 record from 14 starts and earnings of $132,369.

Out of the Distorted Humor  winner Devils Humor, Tight Ten is a full brother to stakes-placed winner All in Fun. His second dam is multiple grade 1 winner Fleet Renee, who is also the second dam of sire Hightail .

Tight Ten, who is 16.1 hands, is standing for an introductory fee of $2,500 with a live foal stands and nurses guarantee. Additional mares can be bred for $2,000 each, and a lifetime breeding right will be awarded to breeders after booking four mares.
