The American Graded Stakes Committee has decided not to reinstate the grade III status of the $150,000 Herecomesthebride Stakes contested Feb. 28 at Gulfstream Park.
Scheduled at 1 1/16 miles on the turf, the race for 3-year-old fillies was moved to the main track and contested at the scheduled distance. When racing surfaces are switched for races, the status is automatically downgraded before an AGSC review. After reviewing this year's Herecomesthebride, the AGSC kept it at listed status.
Stronach Stables' Devine Aida defeated five other rivals in posting a 6 3/4-length victory to secure her fourth straight victory and second career stakes win.
