Remington Park has postponed both of its 10-race cards for Monday and Tuesday, Dec 14-15, due to winter weather and freezing conditions experienced since Sunday morning. The programs will move in their entirety to Dec. 21-22, respectively.

After a heavy snowfall ended at nightfall Dec. 13, temperatures plummeted into the teens overnight and froze the Oklahoma City track. The start of racing Monday had been initially delayed from noon to 2:30 p.m. CT, however, by 2 p.m., track management cancelled the entire program.

More winter weather is expected to arrive in Central Oklahoma overnight with projections of three to five inches of snow and freezing conditions, which forced postponing the Tuesday program, too. When these programs are run next week, racing will begin at noon both days.

The 2020 Thoroughbred season at Remington Park will end with five consecutive race dates. The Dec. 18 card features 13 races topped by the $200,000 Springboard Mile, the top 2-year-old stakes race of the season. The first Friday race will be at 5 p.m.

During the Dec. 19 program, two-time Oklahoma Horse of the Year Welder will attempt to win his 15th career race at Remington Park. If successful, the gray 7-year-old gelded son of The Visualiser will tie the track's all-time career wins mark. Racing on both Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 20, will  begin at 7 p.m.
