Felicita, an unraced half sister to recent Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies (G1) runner-up Dayoutoftheoffice, sold for $250,000 to Alpha Delta Stables to headline Keeneland's December Digital Sale, held Dec. 15 as part of Keeneland's Digital Sales Ring platform.
The one-day sale grossed $508,000 for 15 horses from 65 offered. The average price was $33,867 and the median was $11,000. The 50 that went unsold represented an RNA rate of 77%.
Consigned by Taylor Made Sales Agency, agent, as Hip 22, Felicita is a 4-year-old daughter of More Than Ready out of the Indian Charlie mare Gottahaveadream. Bred in Kentucky by Siena Farms, she was offered in foal to Taylor Made Stallions' Not This Time . The filly produced a colt by Carpe Diem in March.
Four Bridges paid $55,000 for the mare Warm Water, in foal to Lane's End's stallion City of Light . Bred in Kentucky by W. S. Farish and the Kilroy Thoroughbred Partnership, the 5-year-old daughter of Calumet Farm's English Channel is out of the Seeking the Gold mare Welcome Surprise and is from the extended female family of Horse of the Year A.P. Indy and Preakness Stakes (G1) winner Summer Squall. She was consigned by Machmer Hall Sales, agent, as Hip 46.
Four Bridges also purchased Hip 18, Distinctive Nature, a 3-year-old daughter of Lane's End's Quality Road . Consigned by Garrencasey Sales, agent, the filly was purchased for $31,000 and offered in foal to Claiborne Farm's Blame . Bred in Kentucky by Fred Hertrich III and John Fielding, the filly is out of the Giant Oak mare Rayella.
Rounding out the top sellers was Song of Melody, a winning 5-year-old mare by Flat Out who was offered in foal to Not This Time. Consigned as Hip 42 by Taylor Made Sales Agency, agent, Song of Melody is from the family of Breeders' Cup Classic (G1) winner Raven's Pass and multiple graded stakes winner E Dubai. She was purchased on a final bid of $50,000 by Rose Hill Farm, agent.
