Robert Ng's Tattersalls Irish Two Thousand Guineas (G1) and Prix du Haras de Fresnay-Le-Buffard Jacques Le Marois (G1) winner Romanised has been retired from racing to stand for a €7,000 live foal fee under the Al Shaqab Stallions banner at Haras de Bouquetot in France.
The son of Holy Roman Emperor has had a fine career with trainer Ken Condon, making a 2-year-old winning debut and later finishing runner-up in the Betbright Solario Stakes (G3) at Sandown to subsequent Investec Derby (G1) winner Masar.
As well as his classic success at the Curragh and group 1 triumph in France at 4, he twice landed this year's Paddy Power Minstrel Stakes (G2) at the Curragh and was second to Circus Maximus in an eventful edition of the 2019 Prix du Moulin de Longchamp (G1).
Romanised is very closely related to multiple group 1 winner Designs On Rome and is out of Romantic Venture, a daughter of Indian Ridge and a sister to group 1 performer Sights On Gold.
"His biggest attributes were his superior cruising speed and an electric turn of foot," Condon said of Romanised.
Haras de Bouquetot's stud manager Benoit Jeffroy added: "We're delighted to be given the opportunity to stand a dual group 1-winning miler with such eye-catching looks as Romanised. … His stud fee should prove a great value to the European breeders."
