Inner-Track Star Storied Lady Set for Cat Cay

Tri County Stables' Storied Lady will try for her second stakes win of the current meet when she starts from the outside in an expected field of six fillies and mares in the $100,000 Cat Cay Stakes Saturday, March 7 at Aqueduct Racetrack.
New York-bred Storied Lady has enjoyed a strong meet on the inner track at Aqueduct as the daughter of Read the Footnotes won an allowance-optional claiming race Dec. 14 against other New York-breds before securing the first stakes win of her career Dec. 31 in the Bay Ridge Stakes, for New York-bred fillies and mares.
Trained by John Hertler, Storied Lady most recently finished second in a Feb. 11 allowance race for New York-bred fillies and mares at one mile while carrying 123 pounds. In trying to win her first stakes not restricted to state-breds Saturday, Storied Lady and the five challengers will each carry 116 pounds as she returns to the 1 1/16-mile distance at which she won the Bay Ridge. All four of her career victories have come on the Aqueduct inner track.
