Description:

A pair of grade III winners in Acting Naughty and Youcan'tcatchme headline the Nov. 2 Ontario Fashion Stakes (Can- III) at Woodbine.

The six-furlong contest for fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up is the eighth race on the card and is slated for 4:26 p.m.

Acting Naughty, a 4-year-old daughter of Offlee Wild  , stalked the pace to capture the six-furlong Whimsical Stakes (Can-III) by a head in April at the Ontario track. Two starts later, she scored another close up victory in the July 6 Sweet Briar Too Stakes at seven furlongs for trainer Donald MacRae and owner John Hillier.

Bred in Ontario by William Graham, Acting Naughty is out of the Langfuhr mare Mariaburg. Claimed for $40,000 by MacRae during the fall of her 2-year-old season, Acting Naughty holds an overall record of 7-6-2 from 21 starts, for earnings of $404,464. She will be ridden for the second time by jockey Todd Kabel, and the pair will break the outside post 6.

Acting Naughty's fiercest competition, Youcan'tcathchme, is trained by Sam Di Pasquale for owner/breeder Murray Stroud. The Florida-bred daughter of The Daddy scored her biggest victory in the Aug. 31 Seaway Stakes (Can-III), where she led at every call to prevail by 1 1/2 lengths in the seven-furlong race.

That effort came during a three-race win streak at Woodbine in which she also captured a six-furlong allowance optional claiming event last November, followed by a 2 1/4-length score in the Aug. 4 Etobicoke Handicap, also at the Ontario Fashion distance.

Out of the Yankee Victor mare Poppy's Baby Girl, Youcan'tcatchme will be piloted by jockey Justin Stein, who has been aboard for her last three starts. The most recent of those was a second in Woodbine's six-furlong Apella Stakes Oct. 2. They will break from post 5.

Acting Naughty and Youcan'tcatchme are the co-highweights in the Ontario Fashion, each carrying 121 pounds.

Goldstryke Glory, winner of the Apella, is looking to best Youcant'catchme for a second time in the Ontario Fashion. The 3-year-old daughter of Second in Command enters the race having won or placed in five of her six starts this season, including an additional victory in the six-furlong Inglorious Stakes at Woodbine Sept. 2.

Regular jockey Jesse Campbell has the call on Goldstryke Glory, who will break from post 2.  The dark bay or brown filly is trained by Kelly Callaghan for Barry Holmes.

Rounding out the field is Woodbine stakes winner Bear's Gem, allowance winner Shrinking Violet, making her Canadian debut, and maiden victor Lemon Splash.
