Dual grade 1 stakes winner Got Stormy is pointed to the $125,000 Honey Fox Stakes (G3T) Feb. 27 at Gulfstream Park after breezing a half-mile Jan. 13 in :48 2/5 at Casse Training Center in Ocala, Fla.

The 6-year-old daughter of Get Stormy  will soon head to South Florida in preparation for the mile turf race that is a part of the Fountain of Youth Stakes (G2) undercard. Leading up to the race, trainer Mark Casse wants to breeze her over the turf at Palm Meadows Training Center, Gulfstream Park's satellite training facility.

Got Stormy, who broke her maiden over the Gulfstream grass in February 2018, beat males in the 2019 Fourstardave Handicap (G1T) at Saratoga Race Course. She also won the Matriarch Stakes (G1T) that year at Del Mar.

Last season, Got Stormy won the Kentucky Downs Ladies Sprint Stakes (G3T) and the Buffalo Trace Franklin County Stakes (G3T) at Keeneland before completing her 2020 campaign with a fifth-place finish in the Breeders' Cup Turf Sprint (G1T) at Keeneland for owner Gary Barber.

Shortly after the Breeders' Cup, Spendthrift Farm bought her for $2.75 million at The November Sale, Fasig-Tipton's premier breeding stock sale, from the Bluewater Sales consignment.

"She had time off. She's ready," said Casse, who continues as her trainer. "She gets so excited when she starts training, and she worked extremely well this morning."
