Get Her Number wins the American Pharoah Stakes at Santa Anita Park

Get Her Number recorded his first workout since winning the Sept. 26 American Pharoah Stakes (G1) when he breezed three furlongs in :38 4/5 Jan. 22 at San Luis Rey Training Center.

The Peter Miller trainee was one of numerous Triple Crown prospects to breeze Friday morning in Southern California. Also working at Santa Anita Park was the Doug O'Neill duo of Hot Rod Charlie and Wipe the Slate—both targeted for the Jan. 30 Robert B. Lewis Stakes (G3) at Santa Anita—plus Bob Baffert trainees Medina Spirit and Spielberg.

Gary Barber's Get Her Number, who won two of three races last year and $219,000, could return in early March, Miller said earlier this winter. The 3-year-old son of Dialed In  was sidelined with a physical setback in the fall.

Hot Rod Charlie, a half brother to 2019 champion sprinter Mitole , by Oxbow , breezed six furlongs in 1:16 3/5, and Reddam Racing's Wipe the Slate, a son of Nyquist , covered the same distance in a bullet 1:12 3/5 for O'Neill.

"Both worked fantastic," O'Neill said.

Joel Rosario rides Hot Rod Charlie, second in the TVG Breeders' Cup Juvenile Presented by Thoroughbred Aftercare (G1) at Keeneland, in the 1 1/16-mile Lewis. Mario Gutierrez returns on Wipe the Slate, a fast 3 1/4-length maiden winner Dec. 26 at Santa Anita.

Medina Spirit, the Sham Stakes (G3) runner-up, went five furlongs in 1:01 1/5 Friday, as did Los Alamitos Futurity (G2) winner Spielberg.
