The Goffs London Sale will return on the eve of Royal Ascot, June 14, the sales company announced Jan. 29.

Suspended last year due to the coronavirus pandemic, the boutique sale of elite horses-in-training and breeding stock has been held in a garden party setting at Kensington Palace since 2014.

Goffs, who said that the format of this year's sale is under review, are currently exploring several avenues for this year's sale in London.

Group chief executive Henry Beeby said: "Our intention is to hold the London Sale on its scheduled date at the start of Royal Ascot week.

"Covid restrictions look set to continue further into 2021, and while it's hoped that the vaccine rollout and lockdowns should improve by June, we're exploring some creative alternatives making use of our online platform should it not be feasible to deliver a fully outdoor event.

"That may result in a combination of some live auction activity alongside an innovative online offer, and we're looking at a whole range of ideas and options at the moment."

He added: "The London Sale is a truly unique event on the global sales circuit and one that has evolved year on year to offer an international bloodstock platform and an unrivaled experience for all attendees.

"So, while we are in very different times, our aim remains the same regardless of format, and we look forward to working with our London Sale partners to deliver a spectacular sale this summer before returning to our traditional setting in 2022."
