Hello Hot Rod, winner of the Jan. 31 Jimmy Winkfield Stakes at Aqueduct Racetrack, tops the two latest additions to the Feb. 8-9 Fasig-Tipton Kentucky Winter Mixed Sale. The 3-year-old Mosler colt is cataloged as Hip 672.
Hello Hot Rod will be consigned as a racing prospect by ELiTE, agent. The Maryland-bred has won three consecutive races for trainer and co-owner Brittany Russell and partner Dark Horse Racing. He made his stakes debut in the seven-furlong Jimmy Winkfield against open company and won in gate-to-wire fashion.
The dark bay or brown colt has three wins and one second in four career starts and earnings of $113,941. Out of the Tiznow mare Hello Now, he is a half brother to Hello Beautiful, a multiple stakes winner and earner of $377,110. His female family includes graded stakes winners Hello Liberty, Significant Form, and Hay Dakota.
"Hello Hot Rod is an exciting addition to our Kentucky Winter Mixed Sale," said Fasig-Tipton president Boyd Browning Jr. "It is rare for a 3-year-old colt, coming off a stakes win, to be offered at this time of year. He is the 'now horse' for those that want a colt for the Kentucky Derby (G1) trail."
Also supplemented to the sale is Yes I'm Looking (Hip 673), a racing or broodmare prospect consigned by Buckland Sales (Zach Madden), agent. The additional entries can now be viewed online.
Both the Monday and Tuesday sessions of the sale begin at 10 a.m. ET.
