The Jockey Club of Canada announced Feb. 5 the finalists for the 2020 Sovereign Awards honoring Canada's champions and recognizing their outstanding achievements in Canadian Thoroughbred Racing and Breeding. The winners of the twelve horse categories and the five human categories will be announced at the 46th Annual Sovereign Awards Ceremony that will be held virtually in April 2021.

The Horse of the Year finalists will be announced during the 46th annual virtual Sovereign Awards Ceremony.

Media awards finalists, the winner of the award for outstanding groom, and this year's special Sovereign Award winner will be announced on or before Feb. 15.

The winner in each of the three media award categories will be announced, along with the other Sovereign Award winners, in April during the 46th Annual Virtual Sovereign Awards Ceremony. Due to the ongoing pandemic, the safest delivery of the event is through a virtual presentation, the Jockey Club of Canada said.
