World record-holding turf sprinter Disco Partner has sired his first reported foal. Born at Disco Partner's home of Rockridge Stud near Hudson, N.Y., the filly is a daughter of the winning mare Plenty of Chrome (by Big Drama) and was bred by John Graziano Sr. and Patricia Generazio.
A homebred for Generazio, New York-bred Disco Partner is a son of Disco Rico who won consecutive editions of the Jaipur Invitational Stakes (grade 2 on turf in 2018, grade 3 on turf in 2017) and during those same years repeated in the Belmont Turf Sprint Invitational Stakes. One of his best performances came in the 2017 Jaipur, where he stopped the clock in a sizzling 1:05.67 and set a world record for six furlongs on the turf. Out of his 33 lifetime starts, he won three other stakes and placed in 12 others, including consecutive third-place finishes in the Breeders' Cup Turf Sprint (G1T).
Disco Partner is out of the winning Numerous mare Lulu's Number, whose female family has been bred and raised by Generazio for three generations. She bought into the family with Silver Pastry (by Silver Buck), an $8,700 yearling bought by Wayne Fesmire at the 1988 Ocala Breeders' Sales' August Yearling Sale. Generazio campaigned the filly, winning 13 races and placing in 30 others out of 79 lifetime starts. She became stakes-placed in the Main Pan Stakes on the turf at Rockingham Park and retired with $127,018 in earnings. Lulu's Number is Silver Pastry's granddaughter.
Disco Partner retired with an 11-6-8 record from 33 starts and $1,487,560 in career earnings.
