Winter Storm Cancels Racing Feb. 18-20 at Turfway Park

Racing at Turfway Park
Turfway Park has canceled racing this week, joining Sam Houston Race Park, Oaklawn Park, and other tracks impacted by severe winter weather. Turfway had been scheduled to race Feb. 18-20.
The Northern Kentucky track, which also canceled racing last week following a winter storm, will add Wednesdays to its racing programs going forward, sufficient entries and purses permitting, Turfway Park general manager Chip Bach posted on social media. The track had been operating on a Thursday-Saturday schedule for a meet that continues through March 27.
The first of these Wednesday programs on Feb. 24 has 86 horses entered in eight races, plus six also-eligibles. First post is 6:15 p.m. ET.
On Feb. 26 Turfway hosts the $65,000 Cincinnati Trophy Stakes and $100,000 John Battaglia Memorial Stakes, points-earning races on the Road to the Kentucky Oaks and Road to the Kentucky Derby, respectively.
Hollywood Casino at Charles Town Races, Delta Downs, and Aqueduct Racetrack also canceled live racing Thursday.
