Delaware Park Announces Stakes Schedule for 2021 Meet

Delaware Handicap Day is scheduled for Saturday, July 10 and Delaware Oaks Day is slated for Saturday, July 3 for the upcoming the 84th live racing season at Delaware Park, which announced its stakes schedule Feb. 19.
The Robert G. Dick Memorial (G3T), for fillies and mares going a mile-and-three-eighths on the grass, will be the supporting feature on the Delaware Handicap Day card and the Kent Stakes (G3T), for 3-year-olds going a mile-and-an-eighth on the grass, will be the supporting feature on the Delaware Oaks Day card.
After being shortened to a mile-and-an-eighth last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Delaware Handicap (G2) will return to the traditional distance of a mile-and-a-quarter. The Delaware Oaks (G3) will remain at the distance of a mile-and-a-sixteenth.
The 29th Owners Day, featuring four Delaware Certified Stakes, will be Saturday, Sept. 25.
The 77-day meet will open Wednesday, May 26th and conclude Saturday, Oct.16. Live racing will be conducted Saturdays, Mondays, and Wednesdays. Thursdays will be added June 24-Sept. 30. First race daily post time is set for 1:15 p.m.
