Farnan wins the 2020 Golden Slipper Stakes at Rosehill Gardens

It was announced March 19 that the Racing NSW Stewards and The Australian Turf Club have officially postponed the March 20 Golden Slipper meeting at Rosehill Gardens following 25mm of rain overnight with a forecast of heavy rainfall throughout Saturday.

According to the Australian Turf Club, the final field, including the gate numbers for the Longines Golden Slipper Stakes (G1), will be carried forward to March 27. Nominations for all other races from the Longines Golden Slipper day program will be reopened and entries will be taken March 24. The AUS$3.5 million Golden Slipper for 2-year-olds was the premier event on a race card that included 5 group 1 races. The Sky Racing Rosehill Guineas (G1), Ranvet Stakes (G1), the Agency George Ryder Stakes (G1), and the Bisley Workwear Galaxy Stakes (G1) made up the undercard for the Golden Slipper.

The Capitalist colt Profiteer was the likely favorite in the Golden Slipper coming off a Feb. 6 win in the Inglis Millennium Stakes and a March 6 runner-up finish in the Unsw Todman Stakes (G2) at Randwick Racecourse. Profiteer is owned by RTD Racing, Newgate Profiteer, P Tonks, Horse Ventues, Pbff Racing, and Go'B'stock and is trained by Mick Price and Michael Kent Jr.

The race programs for the remaining race meetings will be unchanged.
