Lord North wins the Dubai Turf at Meydan
With a powerful stretch run near the center of the Meydan turf course, Lord North rolled to a decisive victory March 27 in the $4 million Dubai Turf Sponsored by DP World (G1T).
With the clear victory in the 1,800-meter (about 1 1/8 mile) turf race, HH Sheikh Zayed bin Mohammed Racing's Lord North earned the second top-level victory of his career. The Dubawi gelding also won last year's Prince of Wales's Stakes (G1) at Royal Ascot.
Lord North, a 5-year-old, is trained by John Gosden and was guided to victory by Frankie Dettori. He was followed home by Japan-based Vin de Garde and longshot Felix.
