Description:

Glen Hill Farm’s Diversy Harbor, a first-time graded stakes winner in her last race, highlights a field of 11 older fillies and mares in the 1 1/8-mile Santa Ana Stakes (gr. IIT) March 15 at Santa Anita Park.

Trained by Tom Proctor, the 4-year-old daughter of Curlin   finally broke through in the Buena Vista (gr. IIT) Feb. 16 at Santa Anita, when she rallied from sixth place to win by three-quarters of a length in her eighth graded stakes try at odds of 9-2.

BOSSERT: Diversy Harbor Rallies to Win Buena Vista

Carrying highweight of 123 pounds, the Kentucky-bred out of the Storm Cat mare Motokiks will break from post 4 with Hall of Fame jockey Gary Stevens for his third straight ride.

The rest of the field will carry 118 pounds and appears to be more than capable to contest a repeat performance by Diversy Harbor.

The most recently successful challenger is French-bred Testa Rossi, a two-time grade III winner coming off a win by disqualification in the Lambholm South Endeavour Stakes (gr. IIIT) Jan. 31 at Tampa Bay Downs. In that race, the Dr Fong filly finished a neck behind Hard Not to Like, but was awarded the victory after stewards disqualified the top finisher for bothering Testa Rossi in the stretch.

Owned by James Covello, Thomas Coleman, and Doheny Racing Stable, Testa Rossi also has a win in the 2014 Florida Oaks (gr. IIIT) on her resume, and drew the inside post with leading jockey Rafael Bejarano.

The most prestigious winner in the group is Rosalind, who only has one non-maiden win in her career, but it was a significant one. The Broken Vow   filly was last in the winner’s circle with a dead-heat first in the Central Bank Ashland Stakes (gr. I) for Ken McPeek in April of 2014.

Joel Rosario will return and break from post 8 after riding Rosalind to a second-place finish in the Suwannee River Stakes (gr. IIIT) over the same 1 1/8-mile distance at Gulfstream Park Feb. 7. The Suwannee River was her first start for trainer Chad Brown after she was purchased for $1 million from the Fasig-Tipton Kentucky 2014 November sale by SF Bloodstock from the consignment of Martha Jane Mulholland, agent for Landaluce Educe Stables. She now races for Michael Dubb, Bethlehem Stables, and Highclere America.

RJM Stables’ Rusty Slipperwho has yet to win at Santa Anita in her last four startshasn’t won since a score in the Violet Stakes (gr. IIIT) Aug. 23 at Monmouth Park, but could benefit with the lead in what appears to be a race that lacks a clear frontrunner. By Lemon Drop Kid  , the 5-year-old mare will break from post 7 with Aaron Gryder in the irons for trainer Graham Motion.

The final graded stakes winner entered is Team Valor’s Three Hearts, who won the Red Carpet Handicap (gr. IIIT) two starts back at Del Mar Nov. 14. The Hat Trick   mare will break from post 10 with return rider Tyler Baze, just inside Lady of Gold, who finished second to Three Hearts in the Red Carpet.

Trained by Neil Drysdale, Three Hearts also has experience against Diversy Harbor, who was a nose ahead in a blanket finish in the Robert J. Frankel Stakes (gr. IIIT) Dec. 27.

Winning Rhythm, Hoop of Colour, Queen of The Sand, Elektrum, and Indecise round out the field.
