Hollywood Casino at Charles Town Races canceled racing April 3 due to a shortage of entries needed to fill the card, the track announced.
The track has been struggling to draw sizable fields in recent days. Only 47 horses were entered in eight races April 2 after 55 horses and 54 horses were entered in eight-race cards April 1 and March 31, respectively.
Charles Town typically draws some runners from Maryland, where tracks in the state have restricted incoming and outgoing horse travel in recent weeks amid cases of EHV-1 at Pimlico Race Course and Laurel Park.
Live racing is slated to resume at Charles Town April 7 with a first race post time of 7 p.m. ET.
