Essential Quality (outside) defeats Highly Motivated in the Blue Grass Stakes at Keeneland
Undefeated Essential Quality , fresh off a determined victory in the April 3 Toyota Blue Grass Stakes (G2) at Keeneland, maintained the top spot in this week's National Thoroughbred Racing Association Top 3-Year-Old Thoroughbred Poll.
Trained by Brad Cox and bred and owned by Godolphin, Essential Quality ran his record to 5-for5 in the Blue Grass. The Eclipse Award-winning 2-year-old male of 2020 received 31 first-place votes and 371 points in this week's poll.
Mystic Guide , another Godolphin homebred, also retained the top spot in this week's NTRA Top Thoroughbred Poll. The Dubai World Cup Sponsored by Emirates Airline (G1) winner received 24 first-place votes and 346 points.
