The $1.5 Charles Town Classic (gr. II) is now on the radar as a next possible start for champion Shared Belief.
For horsemen with stars in the handicap division, the 4-year-old son of Candy Ride is improving with age.
"He's filling out and getting bigger and better," assistant trainer Dan Ward said of Shared Belief, the 4 1/4-length winner of the Santa Anita Handicap (gr. I) March 7, who has been deemed the world's top-rated racehorse in rankings recently released by the International Federation of Horseracing Authorities.
"He's a horse that's easy on himself and not hard to handle," Ward said, noting that the Charles Town Classic April 18, as well as the Oaklawn Handicap (gr. I) April 11 are both under consideration for Shared Belief's next race.
