Domestic Spending (outside) gets up to catch Liam's Map (center) in the Turf Classic Stakes at Churchill Downs
Colonel Liam reeled in Smooth Like Strait down the Churchill Downs stretch, but was not alone at the wire as Domestic Spending got up just in time for a dead-heat finish in the $1 million Old Forester Bourbon Turf Classic Stakes (G1T).
The pair completed the 1 1/8 miles on firm turf in 1:47.99.
Smooth Like Strait held for third after setting the pace and Count Again was fourth.
