Following his stirring half-length victory in the May 1 Kentucky Derby Presented by Woodford Reserve (G1), Zedan Racing Stables' Medina Spirit has risen to No. 1 in this week's National Thoroughbred Racing Association Top 3-Year-Old Thoroughbred Poll.
Medina Spirit gave Hall of Fame trainer Bob Baffert a record seventh Kentucky Derby win and a fourth Derby victory to Hall of Fame jockey John Velazquez. Seventh in last week's poll, Medina Spirit received 34 first-place votes and 374 points to take over the top spot from Essential Quality .
Godolphin's 4-year-old Dubai World Cup Sponsored by Emirates Airline (G1) winner Mystic Guide again holds down the top position in this week's NTRA Top Thoroughbred Poll. Trained by Mike Stidham, Mystic Guide received 31 first-place votes and 350 points.
