Description:

In commemoration of the 40th anniversary of Secretariat's retirement parade at Aqueduct Racetrack, The New York Racing Association has released "The Secretariat Collection," a YouTube playlist with all 15 starts the renowned colt made in New York.

On Nov. 9, NYRA will give away Secretariat posters to the first 1,000 guests who enter Aqueduct near the clubhouse escalator.

During his stellar career, Secretariat won 16 of 21 starts, including a sweep of the Triple Crown. His most memorable performance came in the 1973 Belmont Stakes (gr. I), which he won by 31 lengths in 2:24 for 1 1/2 miles, records that still stand.

Secretariat was formally retired Nov. 6, 1973 at Aqueduct. The collection also features a special installment of "History of the Game," a series hosted by Richard Migliore, that focuses on the retirement ceremony and includes rare footage.

Trained by Lucien Laurin for Meadow Stable, Secretariat was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1974. He stood at Claiborne Farm in Kentucky until his death in 1989 at the age of 19.
