While the connections of Super Stock  opted to skip the final two legs of the Triple Crown after the Arkansas Derby (G1) winner finished 16th in the Kentucky Derby Presented by Woodford Reserve (G1) earlier this month, he is scheduled to return to racing before the conclusion of this year's classics.

Trainer Steve Asmussen has entered Super Stock in the $300,000 Texas Derby May 31 at Lone Star Park, where the son of Dialed In   drew the outside post in the expected field of 10 3-year-olds in the 1 1/16-mile test.

Erv Woolsey and Keith Asmussen's Super Stock will return to Lone Star after a pair of starts at the Grand Prairie, Texas, track last year, where he earned a runner-up finish in a maiden race before securing that initial win in the Texas Thoroughbred Futurity at 5 1/2 furlongs.

Super Stock followed that effort with three straight placings in stakes races, including a third-place finish in last year's Claiborne Breeders' Futurity (G1) at Keeneland. After finishing fourth to Concert Tour  in this year's Rebel Stakes (G2), Super Stock secured his biggest win to date when he made up three lengths inside the final furlong to win the Arkansas Derby going away.

Since the May 1 Kentucky Derby, Super Stock has stayed at Asmussen's Churchill Downs barn, delivering a trio of breezes including a five-furlong move in 1:00 3/5 May 24 at the Louisville, Ky., track.

Meet-leading trainer Asmussen has entered two other horses in the Memorial Day tilt in Bill and Corinne Heiligbrodt, Madaket Stables, and Spendthrift Farm's Scarred , a son of Into Mischief   who most recently finished fourth in the May 1 Oaklawn Stakes and Say It Ain't Soni , a son of Frosted   who enters off a seven-length maiden win going 6 1/2 furlongs May 15 at Lone Star. Say It Ain't Soni is campaigned by owner "Monkey With a Stick of Dynamite."

The Texas Derby actually has attracted a pair of grade 1 winners as Gary Barber's Get Her Number  is scheduled to break from Post 9 in the Memorial Day test. Also a son of Dialed In, Get Her Number closed out his three-race juvenile campaign with a three-quarter length victory in the American Pharoah Stakes (G1) Sept. 26 at Santa Anita Park.

This will be the third straight race that Get Her Number has faced Super Stock. After an extended layoff, trainer Peter Miller saddled Get Her Number to a seventh-place finish in the Rebel and fourth-place finish in the Arkansas Derby.

Also entered Monday are Oaklawn Stakes runner-up Warrant , a son of Constitution   trained by Brad Cox; and Mr. Wireless , another son of Dialed In who will make his stakes debut for trainer Bret Calhoun off back-to-back narrow wins in a maiden race and allowance race at Oaklawn.
