Gleneagles  continued his upwardly mobile start to 2021 when his daughter, Novemba , ran out a hugely impressive winner of the May 30 WEMPE 101st German One Thousand Guineas (G2) at Dusseldorf Racecourse.

A homebred of Gestut Brummerhof, the 3-year-old filly strode fully 7 1/2 lengths clear of Godolphin's Sky Angel , with Belcarra —bred by County Wicklow-based Oliver O'Connor—a neck back in third.

In doing so, Novemba provided her sire with his fourth individual group 2 winner after Royal Lytham , Royal Dornoch , and this season's Prix Greffulhe (G2) scorer Baby Rider .

The Peter Schiergen-trained Novemba, who was second in last season's Preis der Winterkonigin (G3), is out of the stakes-winning Dubai Destination mare Nevada, a half sister to triple German group winner and Mehl-Mulhens-Rennen (German Two Thousand Guineas, G2) second Nordico, a son of Medicean, and listed victor Nordic Flight, by the late German sire Adlerflug.

Gleneagles, a son of perennial champion sire Galileo  and the brilliant You'resothrilling—a full sister to the mighty Giant's Causeway  and the dam of fellow top-level heroines Marvellous  and Happily —has been in fine form this term.

Having retired to Coolmore after victories in the Goffs Vincent O'Brien National Stakes (G1), QIPCO Two Thousand Guineas (G1), Tattersalls Irish Two Thousand Guineas (G1), and St. James's Palace Stakes (G1), he has sired seven individual group winners overall.

He has two stallion sons to represent him in Royal Lytham and Royal Ascot-winning juvenile Southern Hills .
