Espania, a full sister to the Investec Oaks (G1)-winning Forever Together and Dubai Fillies' Mile (G1) heroine Together Forever , will make her awaited debut in a mile and a half fillies' maiden race June 2 at the Curragh.
The daughter of Galileo was bred by Vimal and Gillian Khosla and was picked up by M.V. Magnier and Westerberg for €3 million (US$3,279,929) at the 2019 Goffs Orby Sale.
She is the 11th foal out of the remarkable Green Room, an unraced daughter of Theatrical and the Blushing Groom mare Chain Fern. Her daughter Forever Together captured the 2018 Oaks and added runner-up finishes in the Juddmonte Pretty Polly Stakes (G1) and Darley Irish Oaks (G1) for trainer Aidan O'Brien. Green Room's other daughter Together Forever struck in the 2014 Fillies' Mile for the Ballydoyle handler.
The trio are also half sisters to the top-class Lord Shanakill , a son of Speightstown who won the Ethiad Airways Prix Jean Prat (G1) and Dubai Duty Free Mill Reef Stakes (G2) for Karl Burke before landing the Betfair Cup Lennox Stakes (G2) for Sir Henry Cecil.
Green Room has produced a further four winners as well as Do You Love Me, a daughter of Galileo who sold to Phoenix Thoroughbreds for €3.2 million ($3,695,680) at Goffs and picked up black type when third in the listed Betway Fairway Stakes at Newmarket last year.
