Six days after Jungle Racing’s star mare Mizdirection was sold at Fasig-Tipton's November Sale, another star stepped into the spotlight for when Shared Belief won the $100,000 Hollywood Prevue Stakes on Nov. 10.
Shared Belief quickly settled in second just off of leader Papa Turf for the first half of the seven furlong race on Hollywood Park’s all weather surface. Race favorite Kobe’s Back made a big room around the turn as Shared Belief drew even with Pap Turf but Kobe’s Back had no chance to get to the gelding. When jockey Corey Nakatani asked Shared Belief to go, it looked like the rest of the field slowed down as Shared Belief pulled away.  Shared Belief went off at odds of 3/2 and covered the seven furlongs in a time of 1:22.17.
Shared Belief will be the last winner of the Hollywood Prevue at Hollywood Park as this is the last race meet at the track.
Owned in partnership with trainer Jerry Hollendorfer, Jungle Racing, Todaro, et al, this is the second win in two starts for Shared Belief, who won his first start for breeders Pam and Martin Wygod. The gelding by Candy Ride won his debut by seven lengths three weeks ago at Golden Gate Fields before winning the Prevue by an easy 7 3/4 lengths. Shared Belief is out of the Storm Cat mare Common Hope and is a half-brother to graded stakes winner Little Miss Holly.
Shared Belief paid $5.00 for a $2 win ticket.
