Robbing Robin wins her debut June 3 at Gulfstream Park

Ocala Stud's freshman stallion Greenpointcrusader   sired his first winner June 3 when Robbing Robin  won a 4 1/2-furlong maiden special at Gulfstream Park in her career debut.

A Florida homebred for Stonehedge, the bay filly broke on top under Emisael Jaramillo and then took back to rate off the odds-on favorite Lara's Lady into the far turn. With a determined run through the lane, Robbing Robin collared Lara's Lady in the final sixteenth and edged clear to post the half-length victory in :52.55. Trainer Kathleen O'Connell saddled the winner who is out of the Any Given Saturday mare My Ladies Choice.

Bought by Gilbert Campbell for $85,000 at the 2012 Keeneland September Yearling Sale, My Ladies Choice is a half sister to stakes winner and multiple stakes producer Golden Sunray  (by Crafty Prospector), to Aspen Mountain, dam of grade 1 winner Bolo , and to Mining My Own, the dam of Kentucky Derby Presented by Yum! Brands (G1) winner Mine That Bird . The mare has a weanling and yearling by Cajun Breeze .

Greenpointcrusader broke his maiden at Saratoga Race Course at 2 and was a 4 1/2-length winner of the 2015 Champagne Stakes (G1). He is a son of Bernardini   out of five-time graded stakes-producing Cryptoclearance mare Ava Knowsthecode, making him a full brother to graded stakes winner Algorithms   and a half brother to grade 1 winner Justin Phillip  and multiple graded stakes winner Keyed Entry .

Greenpointcrusader stands for $3,500.
