Freshman sire Klimt was represented by his first winner June 4 when Loveherheart soared to victory by 5 1/2 lengths in a $62,598 maiden special weight at Santa Anita Park.
Saddled by Andrew Lerner and ridden by Juan Hernandez in the five-furlong sprint for 2-year-old fillies, Loverherheart took the lead and never looked back, easily outrunning five rivals. After posting splits of :22.48 and :46.66, the bay filly crossed the wire in a final time of :59.59 on a fast track.
Loveherheart won at odds of 7-1 and returned $16.60 on a $2 win ticket. It was her second start, following a May 7 maiden special weight at Santa Anita in which she finished fifth and last after trailing the field throughout. She is campagined by Alydom Racing, Rudy Barragan, Ross E. Lerner, Craig Russell, and Ellie Russell.
Loveherheart was bred in Kentucky by Lee McMillin and Anita Cauley out of the the Yonaguska mare Lustful and was a $50,000 purchase by Nick Hines, agent, from CM Thoroughbreds' consignment to the Ocala Breeders' Sales March Sale of 2-Year-Olds in Training. She also went through the ring at the Keeneland September Yearling Sale, where Carlos Munoz bought her for $17,000 from Warrendale Sales' consignment.
Klimt, a grade 1-winning son of Quality Road , stands at Darby Dan Farm near Lexington where his advertised fee is $10,000 stands and nurses for 2021.
