Amy Lanigan has been named as Arqana's representative in the United States, the French auction house announced June 16.

Lanigan takes over the mantle from Tony Lacy, who spent 12 years in the role before becoming vice president of sales for Keeneland.

"I am excited at the fact Amy has been chosen to take over the role as the North American representative at Arqana," Lacy said. "Having been in that role myself for the past 12 years, I feel strongly she has the skillset, personality, and work ethic to be perfect for the position. Not only is she is a very familiar face to the European sales community, she is highly respected on this side of the Atlantic also. She will be a great asset to Arqana going forward."

A graduate of Darley Flying Start, where she built up a strong international network after working for three years at The Bell Group, Amy joined Darley's marketing department in Newmarket where she carried out research for the marketing of stallions in Europe, the U.S., Australia, and Japan for three years. She then worked alongside her husband, trainer David Lanigan, before joining John Ferguson, whom she accompanied at numerous sales in Europe and for whom she still works on many research projects.

Now based in Kentucky, she acted as the UK correspondent for Taylor Made Europe in 2018 and 2019 and worked on building their sales consignment as well as all the administrative side.

Amy also started her own photo and video business and works for many clients such as Darley, Coolmore, Lane's End, Taylor Made, and Shadwell, as well as many vendors and consignors.

"I am thrilled to be able to put my skills to work for one of Europe's largest sales agencies," she said. "My past experiences have allowed me to build a strong network in both Europe and the United States and to work on many areas within the industry. I am now looking forward to starting my new assignments and discovering Deauville in August."

One of her first missions will be to assist Arqana in organizing a flight from Saratoga Springs, N.Y., on Aug. 11 directly to the August Yearling Sale in Deauville.
