Dreamalildreamofu wins the Latonia Stakes at Turfway Park

The first two stakes of the summer meet at Arlington International Racecourse, potentially the last at the property if track owner Churchill Downs Inc. completes plans to sell it for development, will take place June 26 with the $100,000 Hanshin Cup and $100,000 Chicago Stakes (G3).

Both stakes, part of 18 scheduled at Arlington this summer, are over the track's synthetic Polytrack surface, the Hanshin at a mile and the Chicago at seven furlongs. 

The Chicago attracted significant out-of-state interest with eight of 11 runners shipping into Arlington, including Kentucky invader and 5-2 morning-line favorite Dreamalildreamofu .

The 4-year-old Commissioner  filly captured the Latonia Stakes on Turfway's synthetic track in March. The Brad Cox trainee, owned by Full of Run Racing and Madaket Stables, was a follow-up second in the Allaire DuPont Distaff Match Series Stakes (G3) May 14 at Pimlico Race Course on dirt. Fernando De La Cruz will be aboard Saturday from the outside in the field of 11.

Other older fillies and mares in the Chicago listed at odds at or below 8-1 include W W Fitzy , Amazima , Club Car , and Our Bay B Ruth . W W Fitzy has previously won at Arlington, while Club Car was stakes-placed on Tapeta at Turfway in December.

Richard Ravin and Patricia's Hope's Richiesinthehouse  and Patricia's Hope's Bizzee Channel , both trained by Larry Rivelli, are the favorites in the Hanshin.
