Dance to Bristol, who won seven consecutive stakes this year to earn a trip to the Breeders' Cup, will be honored with a retirement ceremony at Laurel Park Nov. 16.

The 4-year-old Speightstown   filly owned by Susan Wantz of Maryland won the Bed of Roses Stakes (gr. III), Honorable Miss Stakes (gr. II), and Ballerina Stakes (gr. I) this spring and summer. She finished sixth in the Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Sprint (gr. I).

Wantz, trainer Ollie Figgins III, and jockey Xavier Perez will attend the retirement ceremony. Dance to Bristol will leave Maryland two days later and travel to Mill Ridge Farm near Lexington to begin a career as a broodmare, according to the Maryland Jockey Club.

"She took me on the journey of a lifetime," Figgins said. "She took me to places where I never ran before and was very successful. She got me to where I could be seen on the big stage, and I think that would be a big boost for my career."

"It is going to be sad," Perez told MJC officials. "She gave me so much. I fell in love with her but I know she is going to be fine."

There will be four stakes on the Saturday card at Laurel: the Jennings Handicap, Smart Halo Stakes, Dave's Friend Stakes, and James Lewis Stakes.
